Yes, Daddy gave us cash for Christmas this year. Not as much as he gave us a few years back, but still cash is always a very good gift.
I put most of that cash in my gas tank. Gas prices are HIGH. I wish somebody would gift me a damn gas card!
Speaking of gas cards, Bi-Lo is giving away gas. Go get you some gas man.

The following was sent to me via email. Everytime I read it I love it more. I know you've seen it before, but I had to share again. Now I am rethinking that Nintendo Wii.
My children do spend a lot of time outside playing, riding bikes, rollerskating, and participating in other outdoor activities. I am so glad they do.
Those Born 1920-1979
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As infants & children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because,
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes after running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computers no Internet or chat rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good .

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.
SON: Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: Yes sure, what is it ? replied the man.
SON: Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing? the man said angrily.
SON: I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
SON: Oh, the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'
The father was furious, If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.
The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?
After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.
'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.
'No daddy, I'm wake,' replied the boy.
'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. Oh, thank you daddy!' He yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.
The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.
Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.
Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.
It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.
Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.
If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the separation for the rest of their lives.
My BFF Christina took me to see Steve Harvey for my birthday 2007. He came to The Township and he was funnier than I expected.
I was in stitches the entire night. I thought Christina was gonna fall on the floor and stay there a few times.

I went to bestbuy.com this weekend in search of a Nintendo Wii. Instead I found my new digital camera. No more camera phone photos for me. Well, there will be less camera phone photos for me.
I am so happy. I used it to take video footage of Arrested Development at the Barak Obama rally on Sunday. I also took photos of Barak and Oprah and Williams Brice.

My mom gave it to me. She used to tell me all the time, “Think highly of yourself dear because if you do not, nobody else will.”
When I first heard those words, I had a small clue about what they meant, but I had to really live that motto to learn it.
My mom thought highly of me. When it came to school work or anything I set out to do, it was expected that I would excel in all that I did. It was unspoken but also expected that Keala Brown excel in the things she did.
It was spoken often that I could do anything I wanted to do. When I said I wanted to be a CPA, I was told, “Baby you can be anything you set your mind to be.”
