Me - Unoriginal? Really?

I was perusing other people’s blogs the other day when I ran across Misty’s Words. I loved her blog. I thought it was quite cute and nice and Original.

Misty wrote an entry about Smorty. She said she loved working with them and the pay was pretty good too.

So, I decided to check them out. Well, I applied. They reviewed my blog. Then today I received an email that said I was declined because:

Dear Keala Jacobs, Unfortunately your blog was declined due to the following reason(s). Some of the content is not original. Once you fix these errors you can re-enter your blog(s) from your admin panel under the My Account section. Smorty

Yes, some of my content is not original. Well, my blog is ME. I post what I want when I want. If Mama sends me an email I like, I will post it. Maybe that is the unoriginal content they were referring to.

Anyway, Keala will continue to blog her way. Not the Smorty way.

November 28, 2010 Gratitude

Dear Blog,
It has been 6 days since my last post.  I am not proud of that but we will move on put all judgments aside.  In order to do what you want to do you must JUST Do IT.  Nike has that right.

This past week has been nice.  William and Allan spent Thanksgiving with their dad.  TJ came home.  Tariah spent the night with me one night.  The week was so nice in retrospect that I almost forgot Aunt Flow came to attempt to wreak havoc on my body and my mind.

We went to Jerrie's for Thanksgiving Day.  Thanksgiving evening I went around the corner to the twins house.  All in all it was nice, quiet and there was no drama.  Loved it.

I did NOT participate in Black Friday.  I never participate in Black Friday.  I listen to the horror stories of every body else's Black Friday escapades and I know Black Friday is not for me.  I love the deals you can find on Black Friday, but I am not so sure they are worth the hassle of fighting deal crazed shoppers over.  I can wait.  Besides I find all of my deals at http://shopping4.momoneyonline.com and http://www.momoneyonline.com.

How bout dem GAMECOCKS!?  They are ranked #10 this week.  GO GAMECOCKS.  Yep, they are going straight to the SEC Championship!  As I type this I am watching Fox NFL Sunday Pregame Show. I love me some Jimmy Johnson.  Nobody beats Jimmy Johnson.  Jimmy Johnson is Lead Dog this week.  He actually predicted that The Cowboys would beat The Giants.  How could he have known that?  Nobody with half a brain cell would have predicted that.  Not even Miss Cleo.  He just did a segment on The Cowboys beating The Giants recently.  If you missed it, I'll look it up for ya.

Every Sunday I watch CBS News Sunday Morning.  I love that show.  They did a vignette on Andy Borowitz this morning that really inspired me to blog EVERYDAY.  Not everyday for a month.  Not everyday for a week.  Not everyday for a year.  EVERYDAY.  Every day Andy writes a fake news story and publishes it.  He calls it The Borowitz Report.  I love that he puts that much effort into his work.  In addition he writes for The New Yorker magazine.  I can write everyday.  I cannot promise that everyday will be a quality post but I can post something everyday.  I'm writing now.  My regular readers know that this is not my best post, but it's something.

Today is Sunday, November 28, 2010 and I am thankful for:

  • CBS News Sunday Morning being such a great show.  I watch it faithfully EVERY Sunday morning.
  • A peaceful and loving Thanksgiving Holiday.Show all
  • Family that I love.
  • The fact that I am not pregnant.  I am way too old for young baby activities: changing diapers, midnight feedings, ear infections, spit up, breastfeeding, etc.
  • YouTube.  I use YouTube as a search engine.
  • Facebook.  I use Facebook as a news site.  I get most of my news from facebook.
  • My son all grown up.  He is doing his grown up thing and I am proud of him.
  • Quietness.  I love my alone quiet time.
  • Blog readers.  I love all yall.
This entry is my expression of appreciation to all that is in my life.  I express this Appreciation from the infinite abundance that is my natural state, knowing that as I do it, this expression will just expand and reflect right back to me.

Appreciation for November 5, 2010

Every November I usually post about gratitude, gratefulness, thankfulness and just plain old appreciation.

My goal for November 2010 was to post everyday. Well, I got side tracked until I saw a post on blogher about NaBloPoMo. It reminded me of my yearly November activities so I signed up and here I am.

Starting today I will be posting EVERYDAY this month.

Today is Friday, November 5, 2010 and I am most thankful for:

  • Paid bills - I have been collecting unemployment since April and God has made it possible for my mortgage and utilities to continue to be paid during this financial diet.
  • TJ - TJ finally got his own place and I am happy and appreciative for that.  I've been talking to him this week and he really wants me to come visit him when his dad goes this weekend.  The problem is that my car needs to be serviced and I'm not comfortable driving it that far until I can pay for the full servicing of my car.  Maybe his dad may get the appreciation bug and let me follow him in his car while he drives the u-Haul of furniture we are giving TJ.
  • Fresh Air - This change in the weather here in SC has the air very fresh and crisp.  I love that.  Thanks for the fresh air.
  • NaBloPoMo and BlogHer - Thanks for bringing it to my attention that I really should do this yet again.
  • My Mom - She has been my biggest supporter and fan.  I love Mom and I am so very thankful to have her in my life.
  • Music - love it!
  • Robert Scheinfeld - I read two of his books this month:  The 11th Element and Busting Loose From The Business Game.  The second book is by far one of the coolest books I have read in a very long time.  I appreciate what I have learned from both of these books thanks to Robert Scheinfeld.
  • My Dogs - They are such a pleasure.  I love walking them and I love seeing how much pleasure they get out of a simple walk.  Dogs are so simple.  I've lost 15 pounds since I got them because I have to walk them 2-3 times a day.  My German Shepherd and my Siberian Husky are the best!  So glad we took them to training too.

10.10.10 Dear Blog

Dear Blog,
It has been 6 days since my last blog entry.  I have been quite busy reading, learning, being a mommy, etc.  I have so many blog entries in my head that I want share/post.  Here is a list of blog entries currently under construction:
  • ·         Numbers Runner
  • ·         Profile of a Hit Man
  • ·         Holiday Shopping Tips for You
  • ·         Google, YouTube, and You Too
  • ·         Evaluating ME

I am typing this entry in Word because it says I can upload to my blog.  I couldn't upload from Word.  I kept getting the error that it couldn't access my account.  Whatever.

Yesterday was Allan’s birthday.  He wanted his party at his Dad’s house.  We had a great time.  He got a bike, money, and a football.  We had barbecue ribs, hot wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cheese puffs and an ice cream cake.  I was very happy Allan enjoyed his 9th birthday.

Dear Blog,
I have so much I want to share but for some reason, I cannot find the words to properly and adequately convey what I desire to share.  Maybe I have too much junk I need to dump before I can really do what I want to do.  I’ll post more later.

Dear Blog,
My brother thinks I use facebook too much.  I've been thinking about going on a 7 day facebook diet.  No facebook for 7 days straight.  At least no going to facebook.  I have several sites that automatically post to facebook.  I won't be going on an all out internet diet, just a facebook diet.  What do you think?

Dear Blog,
I had a dream about bags last night.  Leather bags, suitcases, purses, more leather bags.  It was quite odd.  I dreamed I was packing bags and sending someone on their way.  I distinctly remember a brown leather backpack purse.  I wonder what that dream meant.  I looked up what this could possibly mean and found it at the bottom of this website.  You have to scroll down to the bottom of the page.  I am kind of excited about the possible meaning of this leather bag dream.

This dream prompted me to go to the Dooney website to look around.  I love Dooney.  Don't you?

Dear Blog

Dear Blog,
Today we went to Ryans for breakfast.  It was horrible.  They had no bananas!  And the Omelet guy only knew how to make omelets.  He couldn't do special egg orders.  His English was horrible.  I really don't think he understood English very well either.  Several patrons made complaints about the food too.  I had a free pass so I had to use it.  They say you get what you pay for, so I got what I paid for.

The service was great.  My server's name was Amir.  Whenever I go out to eat I always make a point of remembering my server's name.  I see serving at restaurants as such a personal thing.  I gave Amir $5.  He deserved it.

My mind is not at it's best this morning.  Maybe because I had such a horrible breakfast.   Could also be because it's been two weeks since I had a good fix.  Who knows.

By the way, did I mention that October is Domestic Violence Awareness month?

This entry is also full of links that I was too lazy to blog in detail about.  Check them out for yourself.

Here I Go Again

Well, I said I would start blogging again and what better time than now.  I was in the bed minding my own business working on some sleep when Antonio called and said he KNEW I was awake.  Well, NOW I AM AWAKE.  It's cool.

Blogging again was on my mind tonight anyway.  I didn't know how I would start, what I would say, how I would say it.  So I decided to just start typing.  Type whatever comes to my mind.  Kind of like Nike. Just Do It.

It's been a long time since I've done this, so I feel really rusty.  What have I been doing?  I've been reading my mail, working, going back and forth with the wasbund regarding the children and our court stuff.  It's no news that I got engaged.  The only really big news is that a very close sister friend of mine has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  We've been crying almost everyday since we found out.  Not all day, just certain parts of the day.

I've been reading As A Man Thinketh by James Allen again.  Since my bedroom is a hot mess again, looks like my thinking has been stinking.  I'm working on that.

I really don't have much to say right now except GOOD Night and this is a start.

Week In Review

Warning: This entry is just a bunch of my ramblings during my boring down time. Please don't take it too seriously.
I think I may start playing with HTML again. Get serious about my skills. Something has to change in my life.

Add http://www.distancehealer.net/index.htm to stumble. Susan is a wonderful and beautiful person. She lived about 3 houses down from me for at least 3 to 4 years before I moved into my own home.

Today is a good day. I am enjoying my work and the space I reside in. Life is good. Life is damn GREAT!

The Truth by India.Arie reminds me of Doug. I love that song and I love that man.
Add http://www.pandora.com/ to stumble as well.

It's 3:10 pm and I am sleepy. I guess those Emerald Nuts commercials are true. Yall better be careful with that 3pm energy zapper. I went to the vending machine to get some nuts but sadly they were not Emerald's. I guess I'll just have to quietly find a place to go snooze and pray nobody misses me.

I had a cube visitor and the visit woke me up. Feeling much better now.

Last week was my birthday and it was beautiful. Doug took me to Ruth's Chris on Tuesday. I had a party on Friday. Herman bought both of my cakes: a red velvet and a rainbow sheet cake. My friends and family came out to help celebrate. We had fun.

On Saturday I had the Cloud Nine treatment at Urban Nirvana thanks to wonderful Doug. God I appreciate that man. He's coming to fix my bathroom plumbing tonight. Literally, not figuratively.
I know I have only been blogging on a weekly basis, but I'm trying to get back to my normal schedule. My schedule got messed up when I decided to blog only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends. Big mistake. That schedule did not work out well for me. So, I am back to testing which schedule will suit my life better. I have been diligently avoiding feature creep on my life and I love the results.

Some friends invited me to dinner tonight. I am not sure if it's for me or them. They called the day of my birthday to say they wanted to take me to dinner that night. Well, if you know me, you know I already had plans and I hate last minute invites like that. Ugh. So they asked me to pencil them in my schedule. (I went to all you can eat crab legs with those people. I'm not talking to them anymore because I hurt myself with those crab legs. They didn't even warn me that the legs were that good.....*scratching my arms wanting more*)

The baby shower for my grandbaby is April 26th. It is suppose to be at my home, but I may change that location. I'll be sending out the invitations this week. I need to double check with my mom because she's sending out invites as well.

I remember writing a review about a site that helps with showers and special occasions. I may have to dig that site back up to get some help with our shower. We shall see. For those of you care, we are registered at Target. You can go to Target.com and look up the gift registry for father Anthony Jacobs in SC and Mother Christina Macon in SC. Go on and buy them a gift from Target and have it delivered to the address in the registry.

Dear Blog

Dear Blog and Blog Readers,

It has been 7 days since my last post. Please forgive me for neglecting you like that. Last night I tried to write a post. Actually I did and my computer locked up on me and I lost all that I typed. It was very frustrating and sad. I lost a beautifully and wonderfully written post.

Dear Blog and Blog Readers, it has been 7 days since my last post. I can say that I have been busy with Doctors visits, the boys, work, life, love and the like, but it may seem like I am making up excuses for ignoring you. Please forgive my neglect.

Dear Blog and Blog Readers how I miss you all. I miss our time together. I miss commenting and receiving comments. I miss my previous Alexa ranking prior to my untimely neglect of you all.

Dear Blog and Blog Readers, I won't be online tonight because I have to go to another town to visit my dad. My dad is in the hospital and I have to go see him.

Dear Blog and Blog Readers, thanks for still being here during my busy absence. Although I have not been faithful to you, you have been faithful to me and I appreciate you all for it.

Dear Blog and Blog Readers, I wish I could remember that beautiful post I typed last night before my computer crashed on me. It was all about you and how much I miss you and love you and cherish you. You mean so much to me even though I have spending most of my time with the boys, by myself, with real people, working, etc., other real life stuff, you are still an important part of my life.

Dear Blog and Blog Readers, I hope all is well with you and yours. Please keep in touch.

Love,

About My Lifetime

I am a survivor. I have been to Hell, Purgatory, Heaven and Earth. This site is about my journey, my thoughts, my questions, my life, my present, my past, my future, my moments in Hell, my moments in Purgatory, My moments in Heaven, my moments on Earth, but most importantly, my LIFE LESSONS.

If you're interested in overcoming, having fun, interesting dialogue, witty conversations, and sharing LIFE LESSONS, then you will find something here on a daily basis. If you are not sure about Hell, Purgatory, Heaven, or Earth, my LIFE LESSONS may give you a clue. Then again, they may not. That's up to you and your perspective.

Starting February 22, 2008, all of my entries will either have a LIFE LESSON, a pondering question, or a link to a blog that specializes in the topic I wrote about that day. I have yet to decide how that will be, but it will develop and we will run with it.

Although I am a domestic violence survivor, this blog will not be about domestic violence. Every October I focus on Domestic Violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Every once in a while I will write about DV, but not very often.

I like to concentrate on living in the here and now, something I learned while visiting Purgatory. My major topics are things I encounter everyday. You may even get lucky and witness a conversation I have with myself.

Who am I? I am a divorced mother of three sons, so I do know something about family life and parenting. I am in my late 30's approaching 40, so I do know something about something. I find that the older I get, the less I care about how diplomatic and tactful I am with my words and actions. That should make for an interesting read, write, or discussion from time to time.

BTW, my wasbund reads my blog on a regular basis; he googled me, that's how he found it. He asked that I be more tactful with my writings for his sake, I am not so sure if I can abide by that one. I'll just pretend he no longer exists.

::giggling to myself:: (GTM)

Vote For MEEE!!!!!

Two days ago I wrote Shameless. Not the Garth Brooks song, but the shameless plea to get my blog more exposure.

I thought Shameless would at least get a response or one vote.

Nobody has voted for me but Keala Brown.

This is another Shameless plea to get you and your friends to go vote for me.

Thank you.

This entry has been brought to you today by my shameless attitude.

Have a nice day.

Happy VDAY

We had our monthly department meeting today where we were informed that internet usage is being monitored and if we access sites NOT work related, we will be reprimanded.

I will still blog, just NOT on my blog. I am writing this on Notepad and I will import it into my blog when I get home. Clever? Yes, clever.

The only downside is that I cannot interact with my friends anymore.

I probably won't have time anyway as we have won some new contracts which means more work which means less down time for me. about time. I was getting bored fa real.

Well, today I have done all I can do. I sent out all of my stuff and now I am playing the waiting game. Waiting on the work to come back to me. waiting
waiting
waiting
and more waiting

In other news, Happy Valentines Day! Doug got me good last night. He said he needed me to take him to pick up his truck. I took him to get his truck and he said he wanted me to come back to his place for a minute.

I thought, OK. Just a minute because I have stuff at the house to do.

When I walked into his house, I saw the most beautiful bouquet of roses. Awwwww how sweet of him. In front of the roses was a golden box of Godiva chocolates. Aw Damn, double sweet. Like I wasn't expecting something nice from him (tee hee hee). And there was a gift bag with the purple Mary Kay Spa Collection in it. That man knows what I like. I really appreciate him.

In addition to all of that we are going to Tyler Perry's The Marriage Counselor tomorrow night. Afterwards, "where ever Keala wants to go and whatever Keala wants to do." That is such a beautiful thang. He is the sweetheart I want in my life.

Now, I must go research how to love a Capricorn man? Dang, I can't do that here at work anymore. DAMN.

Product endorsement: Ice Breakers energy - natural and artificial flavor Peppermint Mints with caffeine. I have been popping these and I think I might be developing an addiction to them. Pray for me. Keala don't want to be addicted to nuffin.

Not in the mood

Allan had a fever today

I gave him Motrin, then Tylenol

He missed the birthday party he wanted to go to today

William had a cold last week

I woke up at 3:30 unable to breathe this morning

William was being rather clingy when he had that cold

I think I caught it from him

I've been perusing different blogs and sites today

Usually I read them, but not today

I was just not in the mood to actually read them though

My throat itches

Today is my dad's birthday

My brother just called to remind me

I thought it was tomorrow

A good article about simplifying is here

I learned about Google Scholar today. Cool

It's after 11 and I'm still wide awake! What's this about?

Markus is always blogging something good. He blogged about The Secret again. Loved it as usual.

American corporations are always thinking of new ways to take our money, rape us, steal from us. They have even gotten laws passed in an effort to give it to us in the azz.

While I appreciate the efforts of many well meaning bloggers, tonight I am really not in the mood to do anything about the issues they bring up.

Congratulations goes out to the writer of Zen Habits for his book deal.

Successfully Completed

I have written over 33 entries about this goal.

It was so well worth it. It forced me to recognize all that is good in life. Whenever I was having a bad day, all I had to do was write my daily gratitude list. I am so happy I did this.

Today is Thursday, January 3, 2008 and I am thankful
  • that I assumed this exercise and successfully applied it to my life for all of November 2007, and most of December 2007.
  • that I rollerskated for 2 hours last night
  • that I am not totally dependent on someone else for my livelihood
  • that my family is supportive and loving
  • that the walls in my living room are a bright and vibrant YELLOW
  • that I have this beautiful red sofa in my living room. I love the contrast of the red and yellow
  • for all of my blog readers. Go click on an ad link and make me some money. Better yet, click on my paypal donate button. LOL
  • for 43Things.com
  • for new beginnings and great things in 2008. I am looking forward to a wonderful life in 2008.

Happy New Year 2008 and have a beautiful day.
