I was perusing other people’s blogs the other day when I ran across Misty’s Words. I loved her blog. I thought it was quite cute and nice and Original.

Misty wrote an entry about Smorty. She said she loved working with them and the pay was pretty good too.

So, I decided to check them out. Well, I applied. They reviewed my blog. Then today I received an email that said I was declined because:

Yes, some of my content is not original. Well, my blog is ME. I post what I want when I want. If Mama sends me an email I like, I will post it. Maybe that is the unoriginal content they were referring to.

Appreciation for November 5, 2010

Every November I usually post about gratitude, gratefulness, thankfulness and just plain old appreciation.

My goal for November 2010 was to post everyday. Well, I got side tracked until I saw a post on blogher about NaBloPoMo. It reminded me of my yearly November activities so I signed up and here I am.

Starting today I will be posting EVERYDAY this month.

Today is Friday, November 5, 2010 and I am most thankful for:

• Paid bills - I have been collecting unemployment since April and God has made it possible for my mortgage and utilities to continue to be paid during this financial diet.
• TJ - TJ finally got his own place and I am happy and appreciative for that.  I've been talking to him this week and he really wants me to come visit him when his dad goes this weekend.  The problem is that my car needs to be serviced and I'm not comfortable driving it that far until I can pay for the full servicing of my car.  Maybe his dad may get the appreciation bug and let me follow him in his car while he drives the u-Haul of furniture we are giving TJ.
• Fresh Air - This change in the weather here in SC has the air very fresh and crisp.  I love that.  Thanks for the fresh air.
• NaBloPoMo and BlogHer - Thanks for bringing it to my attention that I really should do this yet again.
• My Mom - She has been my biggest supporter and fan.  I love Mom and I am so very thankful to have her in my life.
• Music - love it!
• Robert Scheinfeld - I read two of his books this month:  The 11th Element and Busting Loose From The Business Game.  The second book is by far one of the coolest books I have read in a very long time.  I appreciate what I have learned from both of these books thanks to Robert Scheinfeld.
• My Dogs - They are such a pleasure.  I love walking them and I love seeing how much pleasure they get out of a simple walk.  Dogs are so simple.  I've lost 15 pounds since I got them because I have to walk them 2-3 times a day.  My German Shepherd and my Siberian Husky are the best!  So glad we took them to training too.

Allan:  YES I do. As a Christian that's the ONLY way to live.  GOD asks that of US.  Plus your BLESSINGS come abundantly when you do this. It's easier to live with yourself.

KB:  Do you really live your life like that all day every day?

Watching CNN's Potomac Primary Coverage

Hillary looks tired. It almost looks like an act, ungenuine. How can she talk about our problems? She not living our problems. Her husband still has his Presidential salary. When she leaves the Senate, her salary will NOT CHANGE.

I wonder if she ever made minimum wage? I like having Congress not raising their salaries until minimum wage is raised first. That's what her mouth is saying.

The Maryland polls close in less than 10 minutes. My mom went and voted today. Yes she voted for Obama. I told her NOT to take her friends who were for Hillary to the polls. I'm bad like that.

That Hillary speech did not move me.

Obama beat Hillary in VA. Yall VA folk ain't playing. Now we have to see how MD and DC did.

Barack finally caught up with Hillary in total delegates. He had her in pledged delegates a while ago. Those super delegates are what's keeping Hillary in the race...for now.

This just in. CNN projects Obama to win the Maryland Primary.

Yes, Santa was very good to us.

I love my jewelry. William was not expecting a PS2. I actually wanted a Nintendo Wii, but you know how that goes. There aren't any!

Dad gave me some cash. I put most of it in the gas tank. Gas ain't cheap ya know.

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: Daddy, may I ask you a question?'
DAD: Yes sure, what is it ? replied the man.
SON: Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing? the man said angrily.
SON: I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'
DAD: If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'
SON: Oh, the little boy replied, with his head down.
SON: Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'

The father was furious, If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.

'No daddy, I'm wake,' replied the boy.

'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. Oh, thank you daddy!' He yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.

Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied. Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts.

Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the separation for the rest of their lives.

Today is Monday, November 5, 2007

and I am thankful for:

• Lessons learned. Life lessons you learn just by living from day to day. I've learned so much over the years and I keep what I learn. I am thankful that I can apply what I learn to new situations.
• Depression no more. I was talking with my mom the other day and she was telling me how proud she is of my growth over the past two years. She mentioned my temporary depression and how proud she was that I came out of it without her help. I am thankful that I applied what God gave me to overcome that crying affair with the couch.
• The $100 I found in my purse this morning! Yes, I found 5 twenty dollar bills folded up in my purse this morning. The Universe is GOD and good to me!
• This forum to share my blessings with.
• Abuse NO MORE. I am so happy that I am no longer living an abusive life. I am so thankful that I have learned to identify the characteristics of an abusive person. I can now avoid all of that and not make the same mistakes I've made in the past.
• The fact that I no longer attract abusiveness into my life. I have learned to love me unconditionally and I accept nothing less from the outside world. If you can't love the way I love me or better, then there is no room for you in my life.
• The fact that my children recognize the above and are living it in their lives as well.
• The fact that I have so much to be thankful for. Life is good. God is good. The Universe is most splendid to me.

Lifetime Drama Part II

When we left England we came back to South Carolina to attend the University of South Carolina as full-time students. We enrolled in Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. I was not allowed to stay in the program because we were married with a child, so I pursued a degree in Math. I wanted to get a degree in Math Education, but Tony said that I would do better not to go into teaching. He said I was too soft to teach and that I’d make more money pursuing something else. With him it was mostly about the money.

When my grandfather died, he told me that he would go to the funeral and that I should go to work because we needed the money. Like a fool I listened to him, went to work, left early and got to the funeral too late. I let him pressure me into doing too many things that were not healthy, wise or sane.

After he graduated from USC, we moved to our 1st house. It was there that he first threatened suicide. He was still harassing me about the past. I kept telling him the same thing over and over. He didn’t believe me. Well, one day he was hounding me about the past again, he was crying saying that my story didn’t add up. He had our young son in his lap. He was sitting on the floor next to an electrical outlet with a fork in his hand. He said that if I didn’t come clean with him he would put the fork into the electrical outlet with our son sitting in his lap. I was terrified. I didn’t want my little boy hurt by him and I didn’t want to become a widow at such a young age. I don’t remember what I told him to get the child from him, but I do remember calling the suicide hotline regarding him later on. I avoided him for about two weeks after that incident.

When we left our 1st house, we moved to a new subdivision. It was there when I noticed that his viewing of pornography increased. Shortly after we moved there he also acquired an account with the Columbia Singles Line. He talked to several women on the line and he also tried to get me involved as well. I told him that I wanted no part of it. I also told him that he shouldn’t be involved with the line because it was dangerous and that he was playing with fire. His reply was that he knew what he was doing and he could handle it and not go too far. I was devastated.

Shortly after being on the Columbia Singles Line, he approached me with participating in a threesome with another woman on the line. I initially said no. I begged and pleaded with him to drop the account and leave the line alone. He said this was something he had to do and he would do it with or without me. I was so hurt. I felt that he really didn’t care about me because he knew that this was something I really didn’t want to participate in or do. It was totally against who I was as a person and against everything I believed in. He was asking me to participate in premeditated sin. I thought that life in and of itself was hard enough without trying to commit premeditated sin. I knew that it was wrong and would open our lives to the horrible unimaginable consequences.

After he approached me with this, I sought counseling at First Baptist Church. I didn’t find it too helpful. I was basically told to be a good wife, try to save my marriage and follow God. I became angry and resentful. I didn’t know how to resolve these problems. I felt helpless. I was so shaken and upset that I couldn't perform well on my job. My co-workers noticed a marked change in me, but they didn't say anything.

Now I know how to handle such problems. I wish I knew then what I know now.

After pressuring me to participate for some time, we got into a huge fight. Late one night we were in bed talking/arguing about my lack of desire to play threesome with him and a stranger. I was so fed up I decided to go to the guest bedroom to sleep. He followed me and hounded me. I told him to get away from me. That's when he picked me up and threw me to the floor. He grabbed me so hard his nails left impressions in my arms.

The next morning I packed up all of my stuff and left him. It was the first time I left him. I went to my dad's house but I didn't tell my dad why I was there. I did tell my mom and my stepmom. At the time we had been married for seven years and he didn't even know how to get to my dad's house. That's why I chose to go to Daddy's.

Why do I blog?

At first it was because I had nothing better to do. Then it became sort of an online journal. Then it became fun. Then it became addictive, sort of.

Then REAL life hit and I didn't have the time. Not that I didn't have any topics to blog about. I just didn't have the time to actually sit down and write what was on my mind. I guess tonight I do have the time to actually sit down and actually write what's on my mind.

One reason why I didn't have the time is because time is money and I wasn't making any money blogging. Not one brown, dusty, rusty penny. Not one silver, shiny dime. Nada. Zip. Zilch.

I really wanted to blog during my blogation(blog vacation). Really I did, but I needed some cash. I was too busy trying to find creative ways to pay the mortgage, light bill, water bill, cell phone bill, grocery bill, insurance. You know - basic life necessities.

Honestly, I really did want to blog and I the less I blogged in an effort to make the almighty dollar, the more I wanted to get paid to blog. Then I began my research on getting paid to blog.

The first site I found was PayPerPost. I logged on, registered and my blog was DENIED!

Then I tried google adsense. They gave me 44 cents to see if my account was right. That's it. Just 44 cents.

Then I went to thenewsroom.com. They say I'll get paid every time someone watches the following video.

We'll see about that one.

The next site I found was blogitive. You have to apply and have your blog approved. Since I just applied I don't know yet. I will be notified in 2 business days of my acceptance.

I'm still looking to get paid to blog. We'll see. Right now, I'm going to find some more opportunities.
