Back in February I asked the question if anybody ever compared
lunapads to
gladrags. I received no answers at all. I was
FORCED to do my own research on reusable menses products.
I bought my first gladrags on Friday, February 12, 2010. Aunt Flow was visiting and I was really getting sick of her. Not really her but the fact that I felt so bad I wanted to stay home with her, but because of nature I had to take her to work with me. That particular Friday was not an easy day for me. Too much going on at the job and Aunt Flow was in rare form too.
Well, like I was saying, I was feeling really bad, so I did a google search on how long Aunt Flow should be visiting. I didn't find out exactly how long her visits should last, but I did find some
other interesting items I felt compelled to try for myself and share with the world. I'm like that, if I find something I like, I share with the world.
The first item I found was the
Diva Cup. I ran across the
Diva Cup because I read
somewhere that tampons were a
contributing factor to our unwanted symptoms of Aunt Flow's visits. So, after reading all about it, I decided to try it for myself. I bought one. Everything I read about it was true. What I liked best about it is it gives you an accurate reading of exactly how much blood you lose while using it.
They say the average amount of blood loss per month is about 1.2 ounces. Well the first day of me using DivaCup, I lost more than that. However, I'm not too worried about that right now. I've used the Diva Cup February, March, and April and I love it. I'm not going back to that other unhealthy way of living with Aunt Flow.
I also converted to luna pads and glad rags and I'm not going back to that other stuff.
Here are some of the links I found and visited during my research:
